In early March, the main beams of the side spans on both sides of the main bridge of Wuxi Linghu Bridge were installed, and Linghu Bridge officially started the construction of the main span superstructure of the main bridge with a total length of 183 meters (as shown below).

Linghu Bridge is currently the bridge with the largest single span in Wuxi City and also the bridge with the largest span in the Wuxi section of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. After completion, a three-span steel-structured continuous arch bridge will be built across the canal.

According to the person in charge of the construction unit, at present, the 177 pile foundations and 7 piers of the substructure of the Linghu Bridge have been completed at the end of last year, and the two temporary piers of the main span located in the center of this section of the canal have also been completed. The next step is to start the construction of the superstructure. The main span of the bridge adopts the construction technology of arch first and beam later, first installing the arch ribs and then the bridge deck. Due to the busy waterway of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, it is difficult to organize water traffic. At that time, two 630-ton floating cranes will be needed to lift 90 meters for high-altitude operations, and the installation accuracy requirements are extremely high. It will take about 10 months of hoisting period, and it is expected that the main bridge will be closed within the year.

As an anti-corrosion coating expert in Wuxi City, East China Zindn has played an indispensable role in the anti-corrosion of the bridge's steel structure. Zindn cold galvanizing compound is used as the primer for the anti-corrosion of the inner and outer surfaces of the Linghu Bridge. Direct anti-rust coating can not only save the later operation cost of the bridge and reduce corrosion, but also improve the durability and reliability of the steel structure.

After the completion of Linghu Bridge, the fastest travel time between the "dual cores" of the new and old urban areas will be shortened by half. The new Linghu Bridge construction project is part of Linghu Avenue (Wangzhuang Road-Yunhe West Road). It will open up the "last kilometer" between the new and old cities by "building roads + building bridges". The entire line is expected to be completed and open to traffic in the first half of next year, providing convenience for citizens' travel.
